About Our Management

Our Founder: The Good News Welfare Society was founded by Rev. Fr. Jacob P.J The Good News Welfare Society’s Arts and Commerce First Grade College came to be established in June 1986. From 2000 it is managed by Montfort Brothers of St.Gabriel.

The Good News College is managed by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, a Registered Society for Educational and Charitable Works. They manage over 150 institutions all over the country in the field of education, social action and development, education of the differently able etc.

VISSION
Called to promote Brotherhood/Sisterhood of all and integrity of all creation, “MONTFORTIAN-GNWS” envisions excellence in rural higher education and nation building.

MISSION
To provide value based holistic education to the rural youth in an atmosphere of love, care, respect for ‘diversity’, peace, justice, sense of freedom and individual responsibility that will shape them into dynamic leaders who will show the way for social change and progress.

OBJECTIVES

To provide quality higher education for the rural youth that will kindle in them the fire of learning for ‘life and leadership’ in the family, in the neighbor-hood and in the wider society.

To ensure a healthy and peaceful atmosphere in the Institution both for Teaching and Learning activities and character/human/spiritual formation.

To motivate and empower the Staff to become role models and inspiring teachers who will constantly update themselves and the subjects they teach, as well as fine tune their communication skills

To motivate the students to develop their varied talents and social relationship-skills to enable them to participate more meaningfully in the present globalized world.

To impart an education that is related to life: combining theoretical and practical sides of knowledge and skills, thus ensuring employability of the graduates in their search for life and livelihood. Also to motivate & train them to be responsible and loyal citizens.

To transform the passive and conservative mind-set of our rural youth to a vibrant, progressive and enterprising leaders with selfless service mind.

To raise the status of rural women through quality education at affordable cost.

To provide education for the youth of the so called ‘backward’ classes

To motivate and train the students to render selfless service to the community

To expose and equip the rural youth to modern ‘Democratic’ form of governance, and national & global issues of illiteracy, poverty, ecology, war, etc.
